Finally we have started this long-planning rev-cms project. As the name indicates, it’s a cms project which will be (most likely) written in CodeIgniter, one famous PHP framework.

This week’s site of the week publishes a free tool named Enso. The tool installs a small webserver on your computer over which you can administer your preferences and update your Enso. Once you have it installed you will be wondering “Where is Enso and what does it do?”.According to Humanized president Aza Razskin Enso is “an assistant that lets you focus on what you are doing an not how you are doing it”.

Well now is the time to press and hold the magical “Caps Lock” button who nobody uses anyhow. Then what will happen is that you will have a green overlay at the top of the screen. Now just start typing “Open” while holding down the key. Then let go and a small window will appear which will allow you to open almost any application or setting of your computer by simply typing in the name. You will see that the application automatically generates suggestions for you.

The most interesting feature for me was that you can teach Enso how to open a file or perform certain tasks. Unfortunately it is not as advanced as macros but when you work with shortcuts there are alot of possibilities open for you. Using the command “learn as open” you can add commands to your list of available choices. For example: Go to your desktop click on a shortcut and then open Enso and enter the “learn as open” command and your command name. So the next time you won’t need to go to your Desktop in order to open the program, simply type in your new customized command and enjoy :)
When I first visited the website it was not very clear what Enso actually was. This is because this tool is so adaptable and flexible that it is difficult to define its use.

You can see in its full beauty in the demo published on Youtube. The site http://www.humanized.com publishes this application and you can run it on Windows 2000, XP and of course Vista. I have had the tool for a few days now and to be honest I wouldn’t know how to use my work computer or home computer without it anymore.

There was a time that I had to process an XML file. The file is used as a music list that contains a set of information about the music file destination, description, etc. It is used to interact with a Flash mp3 player. All I had to do is to have a form to add new musics and delete desired ones. Sounds simple? But I ran into a problem when trying to find and delete nodes. After countless time of scratching my head and reading the overly complex DOM XML from the official PHP documentation, DomIt! came in to rescue. It is powerful, simple to use (at this point), PHP4 compatible, and actually helps you learn DOM XML if you would like to dig in to the source code.
